Reformer @ The LAB

Reformer Pilates is a type of Pilates exercise performed on a machine called a reformer. The reformer is a bed-like frame with a sliding carriage, springs that add resistance, pulleys, and straps. It allows for a wide range of movements that can be adjusted for different strength and flexibility levels.

What it’s used for

  • Building core strength
  • Improving posture
  • Increasing flexibility
  • Enhancing balance and coordination
  • Strength training with low impact
  • Rehabilitation and injury prevention

How it works

You lie, sit, kneel, or stand on the carriage and perform controlled movements while the springs provide resistance or assistance. This makes exercises more precise and often more challenging than mat Pilates.

Who it’s good for

  • Beginners (with guidance)
  • Athletes
  • People recovering from injuries
  • Anyone wanting a low-impact, full-body workout
